Hyderabad: BRS party working president KTR on Tuesday alleged that if the BRS government tried to set up a pharma city in Hyderabad, the Congress government was not going ahead with the project. He said some 12,000 acres of land had been acquired in several villages, including Mucharla for establishment of Pharma city. “But the Congress government had announced several times that it had cancelled the project. If the project is cancelled, the farmers should be told when their lands will be returned,” he added.

KTR recalled that in the past, Congress leaders Kodanda Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Sridhar Babu and CM Revanth Reddy had announced that the pharma city lands would be returned to the farmers. During the discussion on the heads of the annual budget in the assembly, KTR asked when the land would be returned to the farmers if the pharma city was abolished.

KTR expressed concern over the huge increase in the cost of Musi river beautification project. He said his government had completed 100 per cent of the work on the sewerage treatment plant, which is crucial for the Musi river beautification project. KTR reminded that his party government had also completed the designs at a cost of Rs 16,000 crore. “But this government is now saying that Musi river project will cost it ₹ 50,000 crore.

The Tourism Minister sanctioned Rs 75,000 crore for the project. Recently, in Gopanpally, the Chief Minister said ₹.1,50,000 crore was the project cost. He said they were all set to complete the East and West Expressways project and Musi beautification will be completed at a cost of Rs 16,000 crore,” he said. He asked the government to answer to the people as to why it had increased the Musi river project cost to Rs 1,50,000 crore? KTR appealed to the government to place the DPR of the project before the public.

“In Hyderabad, the work on the SRDP and SNDP projects has come to a complete halt. The construction of flyovers and bridges has been stopped for the last eight months,” he said. Stating that this situation has arisen due to non-payment of bills, KTR urged the government to pay the bills immediately and complete the works.
